Vintage Abstract Bird Statue Home Decor - Retro Funky Gold & Black Avian / Eagle Heavy Large Tall Perched Sculpture on Square Stand
A very funky bird statue or sculpture that is black and gold and very heavy. He appears to be perched on a square base. There are carved feathers on his black back section. The head and tail are a gold with a lined texture. The bird’s long tail that hangs down along the perch or square base. It’s head is also gold and seems like a fold over the head section forms the beak. The square perch and it’s base are a solid black with no texture or design on them.
Has black felt on the bottom of the square base to protect the surface it is placed upon from scratching. I am not sure what it is made of but it is hefty - I would guess chalkware but it has the heft of cement!
A very unique abstract aviary creature!
Measures 19 1/2" high and is about 6" wide at the widest part. The base sides are 5 1/2" long.
This unusual bird sculpture weighs about 12 1/2 lbs. BEFORE packaging for shipment - a very heavy piece to say the least! This retro sculpture will be shipped UPS ground due to the heft and size.
In nice vintage condition with some chipping of the paint and crackling on the black perch and base area. Wear is commensurate with vintage age - circa 1970s.
