Jeanette Square Glass Clear Tall Candy Dish, Candy Jar or Wedding Cake Box with Gold Trim from the 1950s. This piece, which is number 1874 in the Jeanette catalog, has a unique square shape on the top section as well as on the base. A distinct finial is on the top and center pedestal section complete this jar's design. There is gold trim on the top edges of the tiers, on the outer sides of the top square bowl section and on a wide band on the pedestal.

This type of glass box was meant for the bride and groom to be able to take a piece of wedding cake home. It could be used for the same for any wedding today and would also make a great candy dish or home decor accent piece.

Measures 8" high with the lid on. It is about 5 3/4" high without the lid on. Base has 3" sides.

For its size, this is a heavy piece - weighs over 2 lbs. before packaging for shipment.

In good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The gold shows some slight wear (especially to one side of the knob on the lid and various other places) that is certainly commensurate with an item that is from the mid century.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
