A wonderful 1940s sweetheart “S” link expansion bracelet hallmarked by the BELLAVANCE & SONS jewelry company. It is in the original box that is stamped #5788 on the bottom.
The Bellavance & Sons Jewelry Company was located in Attleboro, MA, the city once known as the “Jewelry Capital of the World “.
This 1940s piece of history is in nice condition - looks wonderful for its age. The puffed heart in the very center of this “S” link expansion bracelet features an design of a flower in the center. The flower’s center has a rectangle in it. Around the outer edges of the heart is an outline made with short dashes.
The 1940s era expansion bracelet has links that are gold tone metal on the top side and have a silver tone metal on the back.
Expansion bracelets like this one were given to a sweetheart in the 1940s timeframe.
The band on this vintage piece has alternating plain and patterned designs on the expansion or expandable “S” links. The patterned links feature an embossed decorative swirl on them.
This vintage bracelet has an approximate 5 1/2” inner circumference. The bracelet expands to fit up to an approximate 6 1/2” to 7” wrist.
The bracelet is in good vintage condition. It is about 80 years old.
