A lovely and colorful 3 piece set of vintage early mid century costume jewelry. The set consists of a necklace and a pair of clip on earrings. The necklace features glass rhinestone gems that are pink, purple, lavender and orange. The lavender and orange stones are a slightly translucent and have a opalescent color. The larger lavender stones have a teardrop shape and the smaller orange glass gems have a more elongated teardrop shape. There are tiny pink rhinestones between all of the other glass gems and they make up the complete choker chain. The back end has a hook on one side and it is placed between the pink rhinestones for the necklace's closure. This hook type of closure was common in the mid century for costume necklaces such as this one. The necklace rhinestones are set in gold tone metal as are the earrings.
The earrings feature one large lavender piece, three orange pieces (that look a bit like candy corns) and a central purple round faceted glass gem that is prong set. The small pink stones are in between these pieces just like they are in the necklace. The clip on earrings have a tab on a hinge that opens and then closes over your earlobe when in place.
A smashing set that is circa 1940-1950s.
necklace - 14" long. The pendant drop is 1 1/2" long.
earrings - 1 1/2" long x 1" wide.
In nice vintage condition. The gold tone metal is bright and intact on the front and back. All of the glass rhinestones are intact.
Great classic set that is colorful, feminine and certainly eye-catching.
