Vintage 2 piece redware salt and pepper set that is a perfect Shabby Chic piece with it's mid century age and hand painted details on a very dark brown, almost black background. On the sides are some round small polka dots making the set very colorful. The set is larger than most salt and pepper sets and has cork stoppers on the bottom. The accent paint is red, yellow and green and makes this pair quite cheerful as they crow with their beaks wide open.
The salt and pepper set is circa 1940s - 1950s and most likely made in Japan when redware pottery was popular after WWII.
This country cottage retro redware set is in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Some light wear to the paint as would be expected an earthenware item of this age.
6 1/2" tall
3 1/2" wide at widest part
Bases are a 2 1/2" x 2" oval shape
The pair are in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Light wear commensurate with vintage age - see photos for detail.

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them.
