An antique Theodore Haviland Limoges chocolate pot with a white background and pink roses with gold accent trim. In addition to the tiny rose garlands that hang from the chocolate pot's upper rim area and bottom edge, there are wonderful raised leaf shapes that are accented with gold that are around the handle top and bottom. The small roses on the lid, top and bottom of this vintage piece have small green leaves and light brown stems. The lid also has the rose design with some gold accent trim along with an open knob on the top in a knotted shape.
The red backstamp on this chocolate pot and lid have the underlined Theodore which dates this piece to approximately 1903.
The pink roses and wonderful shape make this antique piece a real eye-catcher!
Measurements:
chocolate pot - 7 1/2" high without the lid. 8" high with the lid on. The pot is 5 1/2" across from the tip of the handle to the end of the spout. The base has a 4 1/2" diameter
lid - is 1 1/2" high and has a 2 1/2" diameter.
The pitcher or porcelain chocolate pot is in nice antique condition. There is a small smooth chipped area under the lid that cannot be seen when it is on the chocolate pot. Some loss of gold on the handle, lid and various places commensurate with vintage age. Price reflects condition.
*The bottom of the pot and the lid are stamped in red. The lid says Theodore Havliand Limoges France. The bottom of the chocolate pot says Theodore Haviland Limoges France Patent Applied For. On the bottom of the pot there is a raised circle that has the letters H and L in a faint impression.
