Jeanette Aztec Ruby Amber Glass Bowl w/ 2 Handles & Rose Design - Amberina Red to Yellow w/ Embossed Band Flashed Dish - Mid century Decor

Sorry, this item has sold.

Jeanette Aztec Ruby Amber round red and yellow amberina Glass Candy Dish, Candy Jar or Wedding Cake Box from the 1960-70s. This piece has a unique square shape on the top section as well as on the base. A distinct finial is on the top and center pedestal section complete this jar's design.

The bowl is a bright red and yellow and is flashed glass. This process was used in the art glass trade as a cheaper method of making colored glass. The process involves putting a thin coating of color on a base of clear glass. When finished, a flashed glass piece was practically indistinguishable from solid color glass. The red and yellow colors used in flash were commonly used - like this handsome little cake box lidded jar.

This type of glass bowl from the past would make a great candy dish or home decor accent piece.

Measures 6" in diameter and is 8" across from handle to handle. The bowl is 2 1/3" high.

In fair to nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks - some wear to the red and yellow flash on the sides and bottom of the bowl that is commensurate with an item that is from the mid century. See photo closeups for detail. Item’s price reflects condition.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.

Just as described, very well packaged. Don't do much antiquing, but the price seemed very reasonable to me.
