Vintage Painted Ceramic Pair Roosters Italy - 2 Hand painted Pottery Colorful Mid century Chicken Home Decor Fighting Fowl Set Brown Red
Vintage 2 piece ceramic pair of roosters made in Italy. They are most likely mid century in age. (The bottoms are signed and it appears that the year 1962 may be there but it could also be an inventory number.) The hand painted details are done in very dark brown, cream, red, yellow, black and green. They appear to be fighting each other.
One rooster is posed with its neck curled and its beak open and in full squawk! The rooster appears angry and has its one foot/claw raised from the ground/base of the statue. The other rooster seems to be fanning his feathers in reply.
This retro set of 2 fighting roosters is in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks.

6 1/2” tall and 5” wide
Markings:
pictorial hallmark, ITALY, A. 1962 / A on one rooster and pictorial hallmark, ITALY and /B on the other rooster. (I mistakenly erased part of the markings on this rooster but they were the same except for the B on the smaller one. )
The pair are in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Light wear commensurate with vintage age - see photos for detail.
