Jelly Jar Salt & Pepper Mid century - ARDALT No 3835 Bone China Collectible Vintage Set w/ Original Stickers - Made in Korea Spring Time

$45.00

Adorable set of 3 bone china serving pieces consisting of a lidded jelly jar, a salt shaker and a pepper shaker made in Korea by the Ardalt Company. The set is a small one and what it lacks in size it makes up for in cuteness. The pattern features cheerful colored flowers, berries, butterflies, and ladybugs on a white background. The colors used on this small set include several shades of blue, yellow, green, purple, red, turquoise, and pink. The finial knobs on the lid and the tops of the salt and pepper shakers are a tiny red and yellow strawberry - so sweet.

(This pattern is a close duplication of a pattern called “Spring Time” by Royal Crown of Japan, also made in the mid century.)

The jar, salt, and pepper shaker set is numbered 3835 on the bottom of each little piece. These are from the mid century when Korea was one country - prior to the Korean War. The jelly jar has an opening in the lid for a small jelly spoon - no spoon is present. The salt and pepper shakers have an opening on the bottom that is for a cork stopper. There is an old cork stopper in each opening.

Blues, pinks, red, greens, and yellows make this a cheerful little (and I mean little) set. It is a petite size but very eye/catching.

The 3 pieces have the original gold foil Ardalt sticker on the bottom - see last photo. The bottoms are also stamped with a pattern number of . *Old stoppers on the bottoms - see NOTE below

Measurements:
salt and pepper shakers - 2 1/4" high to the top of the tiny strawberry finial. Bases have a 2" diameter.
jelly jar - 2 1/2" high (without the lid on) and the base has a 2 1/2" diameter.
lid on jelly jar - 2 1/4" high to the top of the tiny strawberry finial.

In wonderful vintage condition with no chips or cracks.

It appears this set was never used as the original stickers are all still intact - see last photo. Light wear from storage.

The bottoms are marked ARDALT KOREA and BONE CHINA with red ink on a gold foil sticker. The black pattern number 3835 is also stamped on each piece.

NOTE:
While I realize that these are collectible items and many folks use them for display, replacement cork stoppers are about $1 and can be purchased at most hardware stores.
