This lovely white with gold and flower designs on this pottery teapot made in England. It has a great traditional shape and features a checkerboard band at the top and at the bottom that alternates with gold rectangles and white with 2 gold X shapes in them. In the middle, the band features tiny flowers that are all different colors - red, blue, yellow, orange and pink with green stems. The flowers are inside sections that are bordered with a slightly curved gold line with little dots at the top and bottom. This teapot is circa 1940s.
The lid has gold floral designs all around the knob, and alternating gold and XX designs that match the body of the teapot. The lid comes to a slight point.
There is bold gold trim on the spout, handle, and the top of the knob on the lid.
Measures 5.5" tall to top of knob on the lid and 9 " from handle to the spout. The bottom of the teapot is stamped MADE IN ENGLAND on the bottom. The letter S and numbers 2615 that are also on the bottom are hand painted in gold.
In nice vintage condition with some crazing all over this retro teapot - see photo closeups. Gold trim is in nice shape with little wear - see photos for detail.
