Negbauer NY Silver Metal Cigarette or Toothpick Holder 835 Marked Urn Handles - Home Decor Circa 1940s - Ornate Small Silver or Silver Tone
An adorable little cigarette or toothpick holder or low urn by Negbaur NY. The base is hexagonal and there are two handles on either side. The top lip has a rope type of design and the sides are very ornamental as well. Great and rare peice for collectors of Negbauer items.
On the bottom of this well decorated little urn or cup with handles it says NEGBAUR NY and 835 which I believe means the piece is 83.5% silver or silver plate - see Note below.
(Note: the Negbauer items with a model number have the text "No" on them which would stand for the model number of the item. Negbauer silver plate items I have seen say NEGBAUER N.Y. with no “No” text just before the model number which then would indicate silver content. This mark which is NEGBAUR N.Y. 835. A collector contacted me regarding this item as he had one just like it, and indeed it tested as silver plate.)
This piece is circa 1940s. Also says JAPAN on one of the outside edges.
Measures approx. 3" high. Top opening has a 3' diameter. The base has 6 sides and is about 2 7/8" across from side to side. Weighs 266.4 grams.
In very good vintage condition with light patina and light wear. Still quite shiny.
