Lovely statue of a Colonial period gentleman in mustard brown and greenish blue wearing a floppy hat and clothing that depicts that from the 1700s. I believe this statue itself to be from the mid century or earlier.
This lovely vintage chalk ware statue features a gentleman dressed in a mustard brown or dark yellow with a bluish turquoise blue cloak on the upper portion of his body. His hat that folds back at the front and on the bottom back rim is in matching colors. The hat also sports a feather in it on the front, and his shirt has a large floppy bow in the center. The breeches are mustard and stockings are an ivory. His shoes are a brown gold color.
The gentleman's face is quite detailed - he has distinct brows, blue eyes and red lips. His hair is long and is a red color with lots of loose waves.
The base of the statue is an ornate design and has a gold/brown with orange/red accents on it, especially the oval red/brown piece in the very center.
Measures approx. 14" high. Base is approx. 4 1/2" x 3 1/2".
He is substantial weighing in at over 3 lbs. before packaging for shipment.
This hand painted piece is made of chalkware and as such, it has signs of wear and chipping to the paint consistent with vintage age - see photos for detail.
