Antique / Vintage Gerlach-Barklow Print in Wood Frame 1907 Colonial Scene Bringing Home the Bride by Ferris - Shabby Chic Decor - Wall Decor

Sorry, this item has sold.

The vintage or antique print is under glass. This is a Gerlach-Barklow print in a wood frame - see NOTE below. The print is a from a painting by J. L. G. Ferris that was done in 1908 called Bringing Home the Bride. It features a Colonial porch with a bride and groom, buildings in the background and a slave and her youngster watching the scene from the left.

The frame is wood that is gold and has some black accents on each of the sides. The back has a string for hanging and shows a lot of wear.

Mounted in a frame that measures 13 1/2" x 11 1/2".

In nice antique or vintage condition with some wear on the frame, lots of wear on the back as one would expect for an item that is probably circa 1940s. There are a couple of wrinkles in the print that can be seen under the glass.

NOTE:
The Gerlach Barklow Co. was an art calendar factory located in Joliet, Illinois, which was "one of the largest calendar and advertising companies in America. Artists who worked for Gerlach Barklow included Arthur H. Hider, Bradshaw Crandell, Adelaide Hiebel and Zula Kenyon. Many of the company's artists were women, or local residents, and many local residents served as artists' models.
Gerlach Barklow calendars were purchased by businesses to be given to their important customers as gifts.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
