Sorry, this item has sold.

An adorable little Chase Co. (see NOTE below about Chase Co.) copper and butterscotch bakelite 3 section canister with a removable lid. Chase made a number of brass and bakelite items in the 1930s, many of them with strong Art Deco design elements.

The top lid has a bakelite apple (or cherry?) sitting on three leaves to adorn it. The center section has a row of leaves that are embossed across the center of it, while the top and bottom sections are smooth copper, giving the storage container texture. There are 4 pieces to this trinket container: the lid and three storage containers that stack on top of each other.

Signed on bottom CHASE USA with a stamped logo that is a Centaur shooting a bow and arrow.

Measures approx.5 7/8" tall to the top of the cherry on the lid. The 3 section canister has a 4 1/2" diameter.

In nice vintage condition with some patina and wear marks and a couple of dings on the lid and the sides - see photos. The canister lid and sections fit on securely and are also easy to remove.

NOTE:
Founded in 1876, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Chase Brass & Copper Co. was one of the brass manufacturers that contributed to Waterbury's nickname "The Brass City". One of the largest brassworks in Waterbury, Chase left the city in 1975.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
