Signed statues of a boy and girl that are by the sculptor Emmanuel Villanis that were produced by Enesco circa 1959. See NOTE below.

These 2 statues or bookends are of a boy playing a flute and the girl who is listening him playing covering her ears. The both are signed by E. Vilianis and have the Enesco copyright on the backs - see photo. The original paint color is bronze /gold.

The boy weighs approx. 2 pounds 14 oz. and is about 10'' tall.The girl weighs approx. 2 pounds 6 oz. and is about 9.5'' tall.

Both have original paint. In very nice vintage condition with light chipping and wear especially for chalkware items of this age. Have original felt on the bottoms.

NOTE:
Emmanuel Villanis (December 12, 1858 - August 28, 1914) was a French sculptor who was born in Lille, France. He studied at the Accademia Albertina in Turin. One of his teachers was Odoardo Tabacchi. From 1885, Villanis lived in Paris and became one of the most productive sculptors towards the end of the 19th century. His female bronze busts, cast by the Society de Bronze de Paris, were exported all over the world from Paris, particularly to the United States. Today his sculptures can be found regularly in auctions.
