Beautiful round antique gold filled locket featuring etched designs accented with 6 paste stones on the front, and a monogram in cursive script, "ADJ" on the back side. The interior of the locket is hallmarked SKM Co. in the center. This antique SKM locket hangs from a vintage gold tone metal cable chain that is 16" long. The chain has a filigree fold over clasp.
The locket was made by the S.K. Merill Company - see NOTE below - and is from the early 1900s. This type of monogrammed item was very popular during the Edwardian era.
NOTE:
On the inside of the well of this locket is the hallmark SKM. It stands for the S.K. Merill Company that manufacturing jewelry company from 1871-1915.
In fair to nice antique condition. Gold filled metal on the top right edge where the locket is opened from has worn to the base metal. See photo closeup for details. The locket necklace has age appropriate patina and wear. Chain fold over clasp on the gold tone metal chain is secure. Item's price reflects conditions noted.
