A wonderful 10K gold filled locket in the shape of a heart that has a heart shape faux mother of pearl background with a smaller gold filled heart and an arrow on top of it. The locket hangs on a new 14K gold filled chain that is 18" long. The mid century era locket closes securely with a snap.
The locket, circa mid century in age, was made by the Carl Art Company. Carl-Art, Inc. was founded in 1936 by Carl Schraysshuen, in Providence, Rhode Island. Worked primarily in costume jewelry, as well as gold and silver jewelry.
Inside the locket there are spaces for two heart shaped photos. The frames and the plastic covers are still intact.
The locket is 1" long including the bale 3/4" wide. The locket and chain weight 3.8 grams together.
The locket is marked on the back 1/20 10K GF with the Carl Art maker's mark. The spring ring clasp is marked 1/20 14K GF.
Locket is in nice vintage condition. Some patina on the locket and light use marks on the back - see photos for details. Item's price reflects conditions mentioned.
