Vintage Measuring Cups in 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/4 cup and 1/8 cup measures that were from Japan and feature an American Eagle in red and blue with a small flag crest on the front of each one. The shape is that of a cup with a handle on one side. While these are redware (see NOTE below) the background is a faux wood grain in brown. Each has the unit of measure on the front as well. Very patriotic!
Could be for use or used for kitchen decor items.
They are in amazing condition with no cracks - all two still have the original stickers on the bottom. The one cup measure has some paint loss near the spout - see photo #3. I don't think these were ever used.
Marked on the bottoms with a number C7509 and two have their original sticker labels still intact.
Redware is a hard, red stoneware that originated in the late 1600s and continues to be made. The term is also used to describe any common clay pottery that is reddish in color.
