Antique Steampunk Watch Pendant Necklace Sterling Silver Crystal Glass Ball - Pools of Light Necklace

NOTE: This is a non-working watch.

An antique watch that is encased in a round glass sphere. The watch casing is Sterling Silver. You can see the inner workings of the watch through the back of the sphere. The face is enamel with hand painted numbers.

There is a short chain with a center loop connected to the glass encased sphere watch on either side of it. In the center of this short chain is a connecting ring. The watch hangs on a long silver tone metal chain that has an inverted heart shaped connector clasp that hooks onto the center ring on the watch chain.

The watch does not run despite the fact that it will stop and start for a few seconds. The hands are moved by twisting the small piece next to the winder. See NOTE below.

Never the less, this antique watch on a chain is a great conversation piece that has a steampunk look.

Measurements"
Drop is 27" in total length. Chain is 24" and the watch and connector chain add 3" to length when worn.
Glass sphere diameter is approx. 1".

It could also be used to indicate a special time that something happened in your life - set the hands to that time and wear the time as your memorial.

NOTE:
I have taken this watch to a jeweler who thought it was circa 1870s. I also had this looked at by an antique buyer who thought it was circa 1930s. I tend to go by the jeweler's estimate as he was able to identify the inner mechanism and dated that to the 1870s. The jeweler was unable to get the watch working.
