3 Mt Pleasant Cobalt Blue L E Smith Depression Glass Square Pedestal Fruit Bowls - Pressed Glass Smith w/ Crimped Silver Stripes Ca 1920s

This is a vintage set of 3 cobalt blue depression glass bowls that are round but have square shapes that were made by L E Smith Glass Co. from 1925 to 1934. The pattern was called Mt. Pleasant. These square pedestal fruit bowls are a mid-sized bowl with a round bowl in the center and a square pedestal shape on the bottom. The edges of the bottom have cut or blunt ends that the Smith Co. called "crimped".

On the top opening you will find a square shape with each of the corners that is cut across, curled slightly downward - crimped.

The bowls have a three slight lines of silver trim on the center of the bowl section that consists of one thicker band with a thin band both above and below the thicker one. The bands of silver trim show wear as they are more than 90 years old.

They are in nice vintage condition with no cracks. There are some small flea bit chips on the rim of one of the bowls. Some wear on the silver trim around each one in varying degrees as would be expected a vintage item that is circa 1940s.

The vintage bowls are about 2 3/4" high. They are 4 1/4" across. The bases have 2 1/3" in length.
