Edwardian Gold Tone & Red Rhinestone Dangling Pendant on 925 Vermeil Box Link Chain Necklace - Retro Lavalier w/ 16" Chain Vintage Jewelry
A vintage or antique Edwardian style necklace that features a dangling pendant. The pendant has an ornate open (triangular) shield shape design on the top that has some etched designs. In the center of this shield is a red red glass or *paste stone that is faceted, and set with 4 prongs. The pendant then tapers downward and has a tiny key that dangles from that. The key is an old-fashioned skeleton key shape, which makes sense as this is an antique or vintage pendant. The back of the dangling pendant is flat. It is not marked and made of a gold tone metal.
*(The term paste is used to refer to gemstones made of various kinds of cut glass.)
The pendant hangs from a marked 925 box link chain that is vermeil. Vermeil means that this chain is made of silver and plated with a thin layer of gold. The links on the chain are a dainty size. The chain is marked 925 for Silver on the spring ring clasp itself and on a loop near the ring. This loop is also marked ITALY.
The spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.
The pendant size is approx. 1 1/2" long x 1/2" at widest point.
The vermeil Silver box link chain is 16" long.
This vintage or antique pendant necklace is in good condition with wear commensurate with age. Still looks great!
