A great retro large art glass bowl or mod Vase that features clear glass on the top and dark blue glass on the bottom. The color fades up from the bottom in an ombre fashion. The shape is rounder at the bottom and smaller in diameter at the top - a slight pear shape - which really makes this bowl stand out. While the bottom section widens, it does taper a bit toward the very bottom. The base is flat and sits evenly on any surface.
The sides of this vintage piece are thick - approximately 1/4" thick making this rather heavy.
It appears to be hand blown as there are small air bubbles here and there typical of blown glass.
This mod retro accent piece weighs in at over 6 lbs. before packaging for shipment. The weight is surprising when you pick it up!
The bowl measures 7" high. The top opening has a 5 3/4" diameter. The widest part of the bowl is about 8" across.
In nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Some light scratching on one side near the blue glass where the bowl must have rubbed against something. Thus scratched area is about 6" long and 3" wide. See photo #10. Otherwise light use marks here and there typical of a vintage item that is circa 1970s. This art glass bowl's price reflects this condition.
