Vintage Set 8 Coasters in Round Box Florentine Lacquered Paper Mâché Japan - Shabby Cottage Chic Home Decor Gold Rose
Lovely set of 8 shabby chic drink Coasters or small nut serving trays inside a round storage container. They feature red, green and gold designs on a light tan background. The Coasters and the container are a light tan on the back and inside.
The original stamp on the back sides of all pieces says MADE IN JAPAN. They are all stamped ALCOHOL PROOF on the backs as well. These are circa 1940s.
The round paper mache retro coasters are very sturdy as is their storage box.
The container is approx. 4 1/2" in diameter and 2" deep. The coasters have a 4" diameter and a slight depression in the center where the glass is placed.
The set of 8 coasters in the round box is in vintage condition with lots of wear commensurate with vintage age. More wear is seen on the plain back side of each piece. See photos for detail.
