Pair Mid century LARGE Wall Decor - 2 Chalkware 3D Plaques - Vintage Home Decor Man & Woman Kitchy
A large and very mid century pair of chalkware wall plaques. They were made by the Michigan Composition and Lamp Company of Detroit, MI.
This Kitchy couple have wonderfully fine features and an ornate gold framing. These chalkware wall plaques are 3-dimensional and have an ornate gold frame design around them.
The man wears a brimmed hat and a green frock and the woman wears a type of tiara and a pink dress. The clothing style is quite old and appears to be depicting Colonial times.
The backs are wired so they can be hung on the wall.
Both wall decor items are stamped MICHIGAN COMPOSITION AND LAMP CO and also say COPYRIGHT. They are also both signed with the initials for dthis company on the underside of the cameo pieces.
Measure 14” x 12” each. They are approximately 2 1/2” deep.
The pair is rather hefty weighing in at well over 6 lbs. before packaging for shipment.
In nice vintage condition with no cracks. There is some light wear to the paint commensurate with vintage age, which is mid century.
