This pretty little girl porcelain figurine is a Josef Original from the Birthday Doll Series. She represents a little girl's tenth birthday with a large number 10 at her side. She is dressed in pink and has a pair of gold topped wings on her back. She holds a gold colored book in her hand that is titled "My Hero". The number ten stands at her side. There are little pink flowers on the front of the number.
The original cardboard tag that looks like a small card still hangs from a silk cord on this figurine. The front says "A Josef Original" and the back says "The Tenth Year". Inside is a little poem that says, "TEN'S not big and its not a tot. I really think of this a lot. But it remains a mystery - too old for dolls, too young for tea."
Her little hands and facial features are very fine. She has long eyelashes, a little round red mouth, pink cheeks and a sweet face.
This 10th birthday commutative figurine has the original foiled sticker that reads: Josef Originals on the side of her skirt.
On the bottom has the embossed Josef Originals copyright mark and the original gold foil sticker that says JAPAN is still intact.
She measures about 4 7/8" tall and is in nice vintage condition with no cracks or chips.
Some light wear on the bottom of this figurine commensurate with vintage age.
