This 8 piece vintage wooden fruit and bowl set featuring 7 pieces of carved wooden fruit is 1960's-1970's. The fruit appears to be the type of fruit you would find in a tropical location, perhaps Hawaii. The bowl has an oval base and has some pieces of felt on the bottom to protect any surface it is placed upon from scratching.
There is a banana, a cluster of grapes, and what I believe are a persimmon, star fruit, mango, and a couple of other different fruits that I am not sure of but have the round (apple like) shape.
The pieces of fruit, both the known and the mysterious, are in great condition with no silvers or chips. They appear to be stained.
The bowl is an oval with a pedestal base, and has nice grain and scalloped edges. The bowl measures approx. 11" by about 6" wide. The bowl is 3 7/8" tall without the fruit in it.
These fruit sets were common in 1950s and 1960s. Some tourist probably brought it home from a lovely island vacation. Now you can bring it into your home without the added expense of the vacation.
In nice vintage condition with no chips, cracks or splits in the stained wood. Some light wear as would be expected an item from the mid century.
