Vintage clear art glass pinch bottle or decanter with a clear stopper in an unusual shape. Very mid century modern style to this four sided bottle with "pinched" sides. This is hand blown glass as evidenced by the pontil on the bottom and air bubbles in various places.
The sides are so deeply pinched into this bottle, that there is actually very little space for any liquid - great display bottle with its unusual shape. There is a clear round stopper in the bottle that fits well. I believe this is a Holmegaard Scandanavian art glass bottle from the mid century. They were referred to as Kluk Kluk bottles because when you pour out of them they make a glug, glug (kluk) sound. The bottles were initially used for schnapps, but due to its popularity, it was produced by Holmegaard in many shapes, sizes, and colors. The first Kluk-Kluk designed by Jacob Bang was produced in 1928 but it remained in production until the 1960s or thereabouts.
Nice vintage condition, no chips or cracks. Light wear where on the end of the stopper and where the stopper fits in the bottle as would be expected an item of this age. A light use mark here or there - see photos for detail.
Measures 12 1/2" high with the stopper in. Bottle alone is 10" high. Base is approx. 4" across at widest point - the four sides are 2 3/4" wide each.
