A vintage Replogle World Classic globe that is 12" in diameter. The globe spins on its axis well, as intended. There is a legend on the center of the globe that features a beige ocean area and land masses in shades of darker beige, brown, orange and turquoise green. The mountain ranges are raised and provide a bit of depth to this retro globe. The arm that supports the globe is metal and has markings as does the plastic disc on the very top. (If I had paid more attention in Geography class, I would be better able to tell you what these measure. However, using my great deductive skills, I would guess the top round plastic piece is to help determine time zones at it has AM and PM on it. Impressive, yes?)
There is a legend area, a logo area, a compass area and a cartographer area on it in addition to the water and land masses.
The cartographer area has the text "Replogle Globes INC, Made in USA, LeRoy M. Tolman, Cartographer" on it.
The base is wooden and has some decorative rings in it.
It stands about 18" high. The world itself has a 12" diameter. The base of the globe has a 7 1/2" diameter.
In nice vintage condition with wear commensurate with vintage age.
