Vintage or antique wooden hinged lid box that has a mirrored top inside. The mirrored top of this retro Cedar box has a stenciled design featuring gold roses. There is gold foil all around the mirror area. This wooden box has four small rectangular feet on the bottom. The feet have a decorative carved set of ridges on the front of each one. There is red felt on the bottom of the little feet to protect the surface you put it on from scratching.
The lid or the top of this retro box opens on two brass hinges in the back. There is a small loop that a lock mechanism could hang from on the front.
While most of the wood is stained a chestnut brown color, there is a lot of color ranging from light oak to a dark brown, especially around some of the knots in the wood. The and the brass hinges in back and the front locking area have patina.
Opens and closes well - sturdy box. In nice vintage condition with wear that would be expected for this age item. The top has light scratching and the mirror has a spot that looks like it has a piece of old tape that won't come off. (I have tried - it is really on there.) The front left foot (small rectangle) has some chipping.
Measures approx. 12" x 8.5" x 4".
