A beautifully shabby chic pair of ornately etched silver plate candlesticks from the early 1900s. This pair was made by the Superior Silver Company and are circa early 1900s. The bases have a hexagon shape. The stems and bases are etched with little five-petaled flowers and leaves. The stems have six elongated panels that taper as they go toward the bases. The portion under the top rim that holds the candle, also have six sides that have a rounded edge at the top and then taper where they meet the stem section.
These 2 matching candlestick holders with their ornate design and etched floral pattern are very elegant and indicative of a more romantic time typical of the Victorian Era.
The two perfectly shabby chic candlestick holders measure approx. 7 7/8" high. The bases have a 3 1/2" diameter. The top rims are about 2 1/2" across.
Both of these ornately decorated antique candlestick holders are stamped on the center bottom - see photos.
They are in nice antique condition with patina and some wear to the silver plate, especially on the bottom rim edge commensurate with an item that is approximately 100 years old. The top rims are slightly misshapen - see photos for detail. Item's price reflects these conditions.
