Antique Mother-of-Pearl Panels from Panel Bracelet - 4 Storyteller Bracelet Panels For Jewelry Making - Vintage Hand painted Tiles Persian
Four vintage mother-of-pearl hand painted tiles or panels from a storyteller bracelet that could be used for jewelry making. The four tiles or panels that are now all separate (this is not a bracelet) are part of a bracelet that was circa 1940s but was broken and discarded.
Storyteller bracelets were made with this type of rectangular tile or panels. The hand painted scenes depicted exotic and colorful scenes and told the story of ancient village life. They were popular in the 1930s to the 1940s. This particular set of panels appears to be Persian.
These 4 tiles are each about 1 1/4" long x 7/8" wide.
The scenes are:
panel 1 - (loose panel) two brown deer with a beautiful bird overhead, right side, with orange wings
panel 2 - a striped tiger eating a deer with a gold bird overhead on a branch
panel 3 - a building with a tall center arched entrance and windows on either side with landscape behind it - looks like Taj Mahal
panel 4 - two people, a man seated on the left and woman standing on right. His hand is on a bottle. She appears to be serving
The panels are in nice vintage condition with some wear to the hand painted scenes, especially panel 4 - see photo closeups for detail. Each panel has 4 hooks/loops for attaching to a chain on it: two on each side. Three of the panels are attached now but one is loose but has the wires/loops intact. There are no chips or cracks in the mother-of-pearl tiles or panels.
