Vintage Incolay Carved Stone & Wood Jewelry Box - Velvet Lined 2 Compartment Chest - Retro Bedroom Bathroom Decor Carved Greek Roman Figures

Vintage carved Incolay stone jewelry box or chest that has a rust colored velour interior with two layers or compartments. This Incolay base-relief sculpted jewelry box features a delicately sculptured scene of 4 mythological figures that appear to be Greek or Roman inspired. There is a male lute player on the left, in the center are a male and female holding a harp with locked arms and on the far right is a woman dancing. They stand on a horizontal bit of ground under them. They are an off-white color and they are on a brown, rust and ivory marbled background that is Incolay stone.

Incolay stone is made of natural minerals melded together and carved with cameo-making techniques. The top compartment or layer is made of a wood exterior and inside is Incolay stone. The wood sides are stained gold.

The top compartment or layer has two satin handles on the sides and lifts out. The base of this compartment is lined in rust colored velvet. The bottom layer or compartment is also lined in rust colored velvet.

The box is in nice vintage condition with a few minor signs of wear commensurate with vintage age. Please review the photos for more detail.

The original gold foil sticker is still intact on the lid and says Genuine Incolay Stone Handcrafted USA.

Measurements:
Approx. 9 1/2" long x 7" wide. The chest is 4 1/4" high.

This retro jewelry box is quite heavy weighing in at over 5 pounds before packaging for shipment.

In nice vintage condition with no issues. Light wear commensurate with vintage age - circa 1970s.
