Antique Advertising Calumet Baking Powder Indian Chief Brass Circa 1900s - Solid Brass Mystery Object Turn of Century Collectible Trademark

Sorry, this item has sold.

A vintage or antique brass advertisement piece for the Calumet Baking Powder Company that is from the early 1900s. It is flat across the top edge with a large round piece like a coin that features a bust of an Indian Chief in the center. Around the head are the words CALUMET BAKING POWDER. The other side is bowed and fits into the folded edges of the flat piece. The bowed piece is covered in a green paper or felt paper on the back.

I am unaware of what this item is and I am not able to find one like it in my searches.

NOTE: The Calumet Baking Powder Company was an American food company established in 1889 in Chicago, Illinois. The double-acting baking powder took its name from the French-derived, colonial-era word for a Native American ceremonial pipe given to the area of Calumet City, Illinois. The Indian Chief wearing a war bonnet was used as its trademark.

It measures 6 1/4" long x 3' high. The widest part on the bowed side is 1 1/4" across.

The brass object that I would love to know what it is, is in nice vintage condition with some nice patina.

If you know what this is, please let me know! (I am the curious type.)
