LARGE Vintage Mod Art Glass Pedestal Bowl - Retro Hand Blown Abstract Leaf w/ Folded Edge Clear Gray Black CRISTAL Italy Home Decor
A vintage clear and dark colored ombre art glass pedestal bowl that I believe is by Murano of Italy. (While it is unmarked, I have had others that are similar that were marked Murano.)
This abstract pedestal bowl on the top has a slight a petal shape - this is the clear glass top piece. This section is clear on the petal shape but fades into a dark gray or black glass at the very bottom of this as it goes down into the base of the dish shape. Under that is a rounded clear glass ball shape. Below this clear ball is an ombre dark grey/black round pedestal base. The very edges of the petal shape have a textured design where they are pinched together.
The one side of the petal shape on the top reaches downward with a very slight curve, while the other side has more of an upward direction. The shape of this glass bowl is unique and graceful with lots of movement from the turned edges - a real eye-catcher!
There are some air bubbles and bumps and depressions here and there which is typical of hand blown glass - see photos.
Measurements:
This bowl/dish is about 9 1/2" high.
The top clear petal shaped section is 17" long x 12" wide.
The base has a 6" diameter.
Weighs more than 6 3/4 lbs. before packaging for shipment - a hefty piece of art glass.
In nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Stunning!
