Large Marwal Bust Mary w/ Infant Jesus - Vintage Chalkware Ivory Blessed Mother 15" Tall - Vintage Signed R Monti Statue - Tan Light Brown

This vintage Marwal Industries chalk ware bust of the Blessed Mother and the infant Jesus is quite large, heavy and very statuesque. It is a light brown or tan color except for the base where the color is a bit darker shade of light brown. The statue has a green felt bottom which is still in place. (See NOTE below about Marwal. This bust of Mary is circa 1950.) The bust is marked with the artist's signature, R Monti, on the back and underneath it has the Marwal hallmark stamps and the number 506 - see last photo.

In nice vintage condition with some chipping and light wear on this mid century piece commensurate with vintage age. See photo closeups for detail.

Measures 15" high. Base is about 5 1/2" in diameter and is 9" wide.

NOTE:
Marwal Industries Inc. created plaster figures and busts in Miami from around the 1940s to the 1960s. They are collectibles and each can be seen selling on the Internet anywhere from $20 to $150.
