Vintage Lime Green & White Opalescent Art Glass Bowl or Vase - Vaseline Uranium Small Ruffled / Ruffle Edges Mid Century Retro Home Decor
Vintage Lime Green Opalescent Uranium Art Glass pedestal bowl or art glass piece that is circa mid century that I believe is a Fenton glass piece.
The top edges are opalescent and frilled or ruffled. The base and bottom have a textured green glass with a raised beaded design that are in 4 rows that cross each other - they make a cross design.
This bright and eye-catching art glass ombre dish or bowl has a frilled / wavy top in glass - there are six waves or frills at the top. The very top edges have a white color when looked at at the correct angle. The color, texture and shape are what make this retro piece unique. This piece is Uranium glass as evidenced by the last photo that shows the glass under blue light.
The small retro vase or bowl is approx. 5” tall (at tallest point). The bottom is 2 1/4” across and the top is approx. 4 1/2” across.
NOTE:
Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium, usually in oxide diuranate form, added to a glass mix before melting for coloration. Uranium glass was once made into tableware and household items, but fell out of widespread use when the availability of uranium to most industries was sharply curtailed during the Cold War in the 1940s to 1990s.
This mid home decor item is nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Some wear consistent with vintage age which is circa mid century.
