Mid century Empoli Footed Vase Amethyst Bowl w/ Clear Stem - Vintage 1960s Home Decor Retro Tall Purple Hand Blown Glass
A mid century tall Empoli style glass footed vase. This retro vase features an amethyst top bowl section and a clear twisted glass stem.
The top section is ribbed or paneled purple glass. The mid section has a wider base area than the glass above and below it. The top has a diameter, and then it widens to a diameter. Just before the the base area of the purple section, it cuts in. These different diameter sections on the top and the twisted glass stem give this vintage footed vase a distinct shape.
The stem is a twisted rope glass and has a plain clear glass round base. There is a pontil on the underside of the base typical of hand blown glass.
This type of footed glass vase was popular as a home decor item in the midcentury. Most of these vases were made in Italy in the Empoli region, however this tall vase is unmarked.
Measures 12 3/4" high. The widest part has a 6" diameter.
This mid century era home decor piece is in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Light wear commensurate with vintage age - circa 1960s.

Very pretty Footed Empoli Vase. I have been obsessed with MCM glass. So I have bought several pieces lately. This vase arrived in a timely manner and was packaged very well. No one wants to receive a broken item. So thank you very much for that.
