RARE Antique NIPPON Morimura Salt Pepper Set JAPAN Raised Gold Dots - ca 1910 - Green, Gold, Pink & White Blossoms Retro Vintage Collectible

Wonderful Nippon Morimura hand painted salt and pepper shaker set from Japan, circa early 1900s. The set features beautiful pink blossoms on a grayish green background and gold trim and raised bold accents in various places.

This beautifully gilt-decorated set of salt and pepper shakers have both raised and flat brilliant gilding in a lovely design of pink and white blossoms and leaves. There is one solid gold painted flower raised blossom on each of the two shakers. The shapes are outlined in a dark paint to give them more depth. There is raised gilt beads around the top of the shakers where the holes are, and it is done differently so that you could differentiate the salt from the pepper shaker. The backstamp on this set dates them to 1910-1911.

The hand painted blossoms stand out against green ashen porcelain background that has a swirl running through it with some color variation within. There are thin gold accent bands on the top and bottom of these vintage items that could be used or put in a display. There are cork stoppers on the bottoms that appear to be quite old - possibly the originals.

Approximate Measurements:
3 1/2" high
tops have a 1 1/8" diameter
bases have a 2 1/4" diameter

Marked on the bottom: HAND PAINTED, NIPPON with an M in the center of laurel leaves - see photo.

In nice condition, no chips, cracks of any sort. Wear commensurate with age- circa 1910-1911.
